About the stories

Wise up and Think is a set of 5 stimulating stories which have been created by CCEA to introduce and support the Thinking Skills and Personal Capabilities Framework at Key Stage 1.

Written by well known story teller Liz Weir and illustrated by local artist Corrina Askin, these intriguing stories help bring Thinking Skills and Personal Capabilities to life for young children. Each story relates to a particular strand of the Framework and uses characters and animals in a range of familiar Northern Ireland settings from a forest park, to a bog, a household, Rathlin Island and Castle Espie.

The books include discussion prompts and ativities for teachers and the supporting website will include an audio recording of the stories by Liz and further fun activities.
