About the stories

Seatbelt

Listen and Think is a set of stimulating stories which has been created by CCEA to introduce and support the Thinking Skills and Personal Capabilities Framework at Foundation Stage.

Written by well known author Liz Weir and illustrated by local artist Corrina Askin, these intriguing stories help bring Thinking Skills and Personal Capabilities to life for young children.

Bugs

Each story relates to a particular strand of the framework and uses characters and animals in a range of familiar Northern Ireland settings from a household, a shopping centre, a bat cave, Lough Neagh, the Antrim coast and the Ulster American Folk Park.

There are audio recordings of the stories by Liz Weir and Fra Gunn, and you can also download the books which include discussion prompts and activities for the classroom.
