Annual Pupil Profile Report

The Annual Pupil Profile Report is statutory and replaces existing annual reports. It has been designed to promote consistency across Northern Ireland and includes Special Schools, Special Units attached to mainstream Primary Schools and Irish Medium Schools and Units.

Annual Pupil Profile Reports should be received by parents by the end of the summer term. This will begin in line with the Implementation Timetable.

There are 3 formats:

  • Foundation Stage;
  • Key Stage 1 & 2; and
  • SLD/PMLD.

Those for Foundation Stage and Key Stages 1 & 2 are also available in Irish Medium.

Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 and 2

The only difference between these formats is that Foundation Stage reports on Physical Development and Movement and Key Stage 1 and 2 reports on Physical Education.

These reports will also be given to the parents of children with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) regardless of the nature of their provision.

Severe/ Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties

An Annual Pupil Profile Report has been designed by specialist teachers for reporting on pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).

Pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD) can be reported on using whichever of these three formats is most appropriate. This decision will be made by schools in discussion with parents.
