Tax Matters
The ‘Tax Matters’ resource seeks to provide young people with a better understanding of taxation. The resource is made up of 3 web-based modules and is aimed at pupils aged 11-19. It covers Tax and Society (citizenship), Income Tax and National Insurance. The modules contain key facts, interactive quizzes and games and ‘real life’ video footage.
Money Talks
This resource is aimed at young people aged 11-17. It contains a DVD, featuring a local young man who finds himself in debt and how he worked through his problems. It also contains an interactive moneymanagement game and practical money management activities. To play the game click here or alternatively click on the play now button.
Talk Money, Talk Maths
Talk Money, Talk Maths uses four real life scenarios (mobile phones, school trips, banking and computers) to support mathematical learning and teaching while raising awareness of financial issues for young people.

A mathematics rich resource that contributes towards learning in financial capability. This resource could also form the basis for a collaborate project with Geography and ICT.
Adding Up to a Life Time (Northern Ireland Handbook)
This resource has more than 25 hours worth of interactive activities – such as animations, films, games and puzzles. It is suitable for use in Mathematics and LLW, but can be adapted to support learning across a wide range of curriculum areas.
MoneySense
Four modules take students through the basics of banking and financial management – from the decision to open a bank account for the first time through to independently managing money everyday.
Shop Around (NI Consumer Council)
We all need to buy goods and services – but are we aware of our rights as consumers. This resource helps pupils understand their rights. It uses a series of stimulating, informative and fun activities suitable for a range of groups.
Counting on Money & The Cost of Money
An interactive website for pupils, teachers and parents designed for use on interactive whiteboards and PCs. It provides an online storybook and interactive board game with downloadable factsheets, word banks and worksheets for pupils. It covers a wide range of topics, predominantly aimed at developing pupils’ confidence in using money and their knowledge of financial concepts. Teachers are provided with extension activities and discussion points. There are also hints and tips for parents when discussing the topics of financial capability with their children.
