Contain the specified headings;
Be received by parents by the 30th June;
Indicate if a pupil has been exempted from any part of the curriculum or assessment arrangements; and
Include pupil accreditation: achievement of qualification, award or certificate, including credit towards.

Please note that:

There have been minor changes to the specified headings since schools reported in 2009. Please refer to the interactive reports available here for more information;
Irish-Medium schools can report to parents in Irish or English;
Pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD) can be reported on using which ever set of headings the school and parents feel is appropriate;
No InCAS outcomes should be contained in the Annual Report;
As the CCEA comment banks were based on the draft new Levels of Progression, which are still in the process of being finalised, it has been decided that these will not be available this year. Schools are still free to create their own comment banks.

Levels and the Annual Report

The Department of Education issued Circular 2010/06 on 29 April which makes it clear that primary schools should continue to assess end of Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils “against the existing levels in Language and Literacy (English and/or Irish) … and Mathematics and Numeracy” (Mathematics).

These levels can be found in the Key Stage 1 & 2 Assessment Arrangements (Transitional) booklets available on the Key Stage 1 and 2 Assessment section.

This means that schools are required to report overall levels in both of these areas of learning.

Schools are required to report end-of-key-stage outcomes and information as specified in 2009 Order, by 30 June if available.

However, it is not a requirement that this information is included in the Annual Report itself, and the information may be issued separately to parents.
