Irish Medium Education at Key Stages 1 and 2

Young children come to school from a variety of different backgrounds, including linguistic (where the language at home is not always the same as that at school).  The aim of the Primary Curriculum is to provide children with an appropriate programme of learning which builds on previous learning, is challenging, develops their dispositions to learn and provides them with the skills and competences they will need to succeed in school and in future life.

A working group comprised of CCEA officers and a number of delegates with a range of Irish-medium expertise  is currently working on amending and revising the curriculum requirements so that they fully benefit pupils in Irish medium education.  These will be uploaded to this website as soon as they are available.
