New providers for Computer-Based Assessment
Following a public procurement process the Department of Education has identified two new providers for the Literacy and Numeracy computer-based assessments:
Tribal Education Ltd. for the Literacy assessment; and
Rising Stars UK Ltd. for the Numeracy assessment.
The Department of Education and CCEA recognise the challenges that schools face this year, particularly in relation to preparation for the changes to statutory assessment requirements in 2012/13.
More detailed communication with schools will follow shortly to assist with planning and implementation.
This will include arrangements for:
- trialling and evaluation of the new assessments prior to implementation;
- Principals’ Information Sessions;
- online training for Year 4-7 teachers; and
- arrangements for computer-based assessments in 2012.
