'A Window on Special' is a collection of short videos from Special Schools in Northern Ireland, giving a snapshot of the educational experiences of children and young people within the sector.

Prerequisite Skills (Q Skills)

The Prerequisite Skills or Q Skills are an assessment resource to support teachers and classroom assistants. The skills described in the resource build towards Level 1 in the cross-curricular skills for Communication, Using Mathematics and Using ICT.

Quest for learning

Quest for learning is an assessment framework to support teachers and classroom assistants of learners with PMLD. It also provides guidance on activities and strategies to support the development of individual pathways to learning.

Gifted and Talented Pupils

This document sets out non-statutory guidelines to support the teaching of Gifted and Talented learners. The guidelines reflect the good practice which is already taking place in schools throughout Northern Ireland and are consistent with the aims and objectives of the Northern Ireland Curriculum.
