Background to the Curriculum

In late 1999, following advice from CCEA, the Department of Education gave the go ahead for a review of the Northern Ireland Curriculum and its assessment 'to meet the needs of young people, society, the economy and environment in the 21st Century'. In June 2004 the Minister for Education gave approval for the Key Stage 1 and 2 and Post Primary Revised Curriculum.

This section of the website provides details on the background and history of the review and the revised Northern Ireland Curriculum.
